Traditional on-the-mountain ski instruction suffers a serious limitation: you the student can't see what you're doing and your instructor or coach can't feel what you're feeling. Frequently there is a big gap between what you feel you're doing and what your coach is seeing.
Having a feel for what you're doing is important in any activity because it leads to a natural and free form of movement that equates to atheleticism.
The fancy term for "having a feel" is kinesthetics. A closely related term is proprioception which is the sense of self-movement, force and body position.
Kinesthetics is the foundation of the Ski Dynamics Learning Center. You will learn to be a better skier by honing your "sixth sense" of proprioception through visual learning.
The use of video in sports coaching has been around for years. The fundamental of any sport is movement and video can be invaluable in movement analysis (MA).
Ski Dynamics has developed a system of movement analysis specifically for skiing and a web-based tool that makes MA available to everyone anywhere.
Using these tools, a short video clip of your skiing becomes the foundation for your personal ski improvement plan.
Understanding is the key. It starts with understanding your own skiing movements and relating them to your perceptions while skiing.
The Ski Dynamics Learning Center will provide a step-by-step process to get you from where you are today to where you want to be in the future.
